Alive! Alive! in Hawai‘i & California

Alive! in Hawai‘i & California

Get ready to attend WSU!

All new students are required to attend an orientation program to register for classes. If you’re not up for a summer trip to Pullman, don’t worry — we’re bringing orientation to you! You’ll meet with a small group of WSU staff and faculty members who walk you through all the information you’ll need before you arrive in the Fall!

At your Alive! orientation, you can expect to:

  • Meet with faculty advisors and other campus leaders.
  • Create your schedule and register for fall semester classes.
  • Learn how you can customize your education and open up future career opportunities with more than 200 fields of study.
  • Meet current students and alumni from your home state!
  • Learn about the exciting leadership and involvement opportunities that await you.

Sign up for an Alive! orientation near you

If you can’t attend a summer orientation, you can attend Fall Alive! instead.

*NOTE: All out-of-state Alive! Orientation participants will be required to complete a Resource Tour once on-campus in the Fall. This tour must be led by New Student Programs staff which includes a federally mandated Safety On Campus presentation. There will be tour options during the Week of Welcome, first week of classes, and one more opportunity in September.

Bringing Alive! Orientation to You!

Out-of-state students from and near: Hawai‘i and California, are encouraged to sign-up for Writing and Math placement exams hosted in their area.  This helps your academic advisor build course options before meeting with you at an out-of-state Alive! Orientation program. Dates for these placement exams will be announced soon!

All out-of-state Alive! Orientation program participants are required to complete a Resource Tour on-campus once they arrive on-campus in the Fall. You will learn more about your requirements during your out-of-state Alive! Orientation during our Next Steps Workshop.
